Volunteer
Neighbors volunteer their time and talent to help seniors live with dignity and independence.
Whether you have only a few hours one day a week or can volunteer every day, your assistance is much needed!

Meals on Wheels Volunteer Role
Deliver nutritious lunches to those in need in Denton County. Volunteers are typically expected to commit to meal delivery by:
- Volunteering regularly at least one day a week
- Volunteering to deliver on a stand-by basis and we will call you when needed to see if you are available
The food pick-up time is between 10:00 A.M. and 10.30 A.M., Monday through Friday, and the food should be delivered to homes by 12: 00 noon. Food containers and training are provided. Please remember that we, and the people who receive our meals, are depending on you.
Volunteer requirements to deliver meals include:
- Personal transportation
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- Application
- Criminal history check which we conduct
“We all get so wrapped up in our own circles and lives that we forget that there are so many in need. It has been so humbling to help in just a small way and is so worth it. It is more than delivering a meal. It’s making face to face contact with someone who might not otherwise get that in their day. Just talking to them and asking them if they are ok might be just what they need. I am happy to be involved in this organization. It really doesn’t take much time and I feel that it makes a difference.”
–Jackie, Meals on Wheel Volunteer
