In Memory of Joseph Harker

Joseph Harker started driving for Span on February 11th, 2019. Mr. Harker had only driven for Span for one year and nine months, but it felt like he’d been with the agency forever and everyone loved him. We quickly learned that he was going to fit in as a Span driver because he started showing up with Span swag that he had made. He always represented Span in a “Joseph Harker style” of professionalism. He’d come in with his Span hat and shirt, gloves, and sunglasses, and a case of special CD’s that he made and played for his passengers and they loved the special treatment. During football season, it was a Dallas Cowboy hat! Mr. Harker loved his co-workers. He’d show up with a plate of cookies or boxes of donuts and kolaches, and on many occasions, a chicken dinner from Golden Chick or KFC for lunch for anyone who walked in the breakroom.

In October of 2021, Mr. Harker’s bus had to go in for repair and unfortunately, we did not get it back before he passed. He was always asking our mechanic, Ricky, “Man, when am I going to get my bus back?” On the morning of November 29th, 2021, our hearts broke, when we got a call that our dear friend had passed away. So, in honor of the unforgettable person, Joseph Harker, bus 123 was dedicated to him for as long as it remains in service.
